Tea room / Lunchroom

Space description

The Tea Room is a place for staff and/or visitors to access basic refreshments.  It should incorporate the main items identified in Tea Point, plus some general seating and informal gathering space.  A Tea room / Lunch room will typically be larger than a Tea point, and may have better proximity to front-of-house spaces, such as reception and meeting rooms.  These space may form part of a communal or breakout space, but will typically not include some of the furniture and fixtures found in a communal or breakout space.

Other - One room / space per floor or department over 500m2.
- Can be shared with adjacent departments / areas, pending building/floor layout.
- Maximum 60m from any workpoint.

General

General - Provide comfortable space fitout features, with respect to the building and the end user core business.
Design principles - Lunch rooms are to be designed to allow staff to reheat and eat food, and also provide an opportunity for staff to socialise with colleagues during lunch breaks.
