Windows
Generally anodised or powder coated commercial grade aluminium framed windows are to be used to match in colour those in the existing buildings.
It is essential that windows more than one storey above ground can be cleaned from inside. In cases where it is not necessary for windows to be opened by the users they are to be fitted with budget locks so that they can be opened by maintenance staff.
It is noted that window openings widths and locations are to meet the Deemed to Satisfy Provisions of the Building Code of Australia.
Opening windows accessible from the ground (within 3 metres to the sill) are to have window locks (Lockwood or equal, as directed).
The use of blinds should not be relied upon as the sole protection from summer sun penetration.
Specify Holland blinds to all windows.
